What is CoS?

What is High Class of Service (CoS)?

A High Class of Service is an Enterprise Ethernet service with 1/1 committed bandwidth. That means your business can always access 100% of your available bandwidth. So, if you're on a 1000/1000Mbps service, you'll always get 1000Mbps. Therefore, a High CoS is ideal for time-sensitive applications, including voice, video conferencing and CRM database queries.

A High CoS is available as an upgrade for nbn® Enterprise Ethernet connections. It's perfect if guaranteed bandwidth is crucial for your business's efficiency and continuity.

How does Class of Service impact your business internet? 

Think of CoS like choosing between hiring an employee or contractor when growing your team. A contractor will come with more flexibility and is often more cost-effective than an employee. On the other hand, an employee will (or should!) give 100% of their time and effort to your business during work hours. So, while employees come at a higher cost and with less flexibility, you can count on them to be all-in should something critical come up.

That's how CoS works. A low CoS means your nbn® Enterprise Ethernet is on a network that services other businesses in the area alongside yours.
