Does Aussie Broadband charge any set-up fees?

Aussie Broadband does not directly charge any additional fees to start a residential-grade internet service.
However, there are some circumstances where you may encounter an upfront cost when signing up. If any of these fees apply to your application, we will inform you of any applicable costs during the sign-up process before issuing any charges.
Hardware & Equipment Costs
If you are purchasing a modem, router, or any other networking equipment from us during the sign-up process, the retail cost of the item(s) will be charged upfront on your first invoice.
Shipping – When ordering equipment, a shipping fee may apply as an upfront cost, depending on the priority of the postage service. Standard shipping incurs a $15 charge, Express is $20 and Courier is $25.
Residential & Small Business nbn® Services
New Development Fee ($300) – This fee may apply when nbn® equipment needs to be installed from scratch – such as when the premises has been recently built, rebuilt, or sub-divided or if the service has never been activated before.
Subsequent Installation Fee ($297) – Applicable where a ‘subsequent’ service has been requested and needs to be installed. This fee may not apply where a subsequent install has already been completed in the past.
Incorrect Call Out Fee ($165) – May be charged via nbn® where a technician was requested for repair and found no fault, or where the cause was due to improper use of nbn® equipment.
Aussie Broadband will sometimes collect fees on behalf of nbn® and does not receive any of the cost charged. You can learn more about New Development Fees here, and Subsequent Installations here.
OptiComm Plans
New Development Fee ($300) – This fee may apply when OptiComm equipment needs to be installed from scratch – such as when the premises has been recently built, rebuilt, or sub-divided.
New Connection Charge ($330 – $550) – This charge from OptiComm may be passed to the customer depending on the circumstances and costs around the installation of the service.
Aussie Broadband will sometimes collect fees on behalf of OptiComm and does not receive any of the cost charged. You can learn more about New Development Fees here.
Enterprise Ethernet & Aussie Fibre Business Services
Fibre Build Contribution – There may be an additional charge from nbn® to cover some of the installation costs.
Enterprise Ethernet Setup Fee or Aussie Fibre Setup Fee – There may be a setup fee applicable when starting the service and commencing a fibre build.
Cancellation Fees – If your order for Aussie Fibre or Enterprise Ethernet is cancelled by the customer or the installer before it’s completed, a cancellation fee may be issued. The amount of this fee depends on the stage of your order at the time it is cancelled.
