Aussie Broadband announces new enterprise arm, retires Wideband branding
Media Release | Thursday 23 May 2019 | 1 min read
Aussie Broadband has announced a new “Aussie Broadband Enterprise” arm for its business, and in the process is retiring its Wideband Networks brand.
Managing Director, Phillip Britt, said the brand is being retired for two reasons – trademarking concerns, and good commercial sense.
“We ran into some trademarking issues for the Wideband name with another company – not specifically in telco – and we also came to the conclusion that it’s a better route for us to bring everything back under Aussie Broadband,” he said.
“We think it makes more sense to leverage off the great reputation that Aussie Broadband now has in the residential and small business markets.
Phil said the company launched the two separate brands back in 2016, when Aussie Broadband was a relatively unknown player in the market.
“We wanted to differentiate our Wideband Networks brand as one solely focused on corporate and enterprise customers.
“Today, given Aussie Broadband’s market recognition and growing reputation for quality service and products, it makes more sense to us to bring everything back under one brand.”
The move sees Aussie offer services under residential, small business and corporate/enterprise banners.
Phil said the enterprise arm will continue to offer the same corporate telco services it did under the Wideband banner, including private IP networks, data centre connects, hosted PBX phones, SIP trunks and standard enterprise connections.
However, the new Aussie Broadband Enterprise arm will also take on NBN’s enterprise ethernet product, offering up to nbn™ 1000/1000 plans nationally, with free installation subject to some conditions.*
