Setting up email on Microsoft Outlook (2007)
Last Updated: Friday 5 May 2023
This article provides the steps required to successfully setup your email account in Microsoft Outlook (2007 version) on a Windows PC.
Open Microsoft Outlook.
Click on Tools from the menu bar at the top, then Account Settings.
A new window should open. Click New... from the options near the top. This should open another new window.
Tick the box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next to continue.
On the following page, select the option for Internet E-mail and click Next to continue.
Now, enter the connection details for your @aussiebroadband.com.au (or @aussiebb.com.au) account as follows:
Your Name: (the name you'd like to display when sending from this address)
Email Address: (your full email address, such as example@aussiebb.com.au)
Account Type: IMAP (read more before choosing POP3)
Incoming Mail Server:
mail.aussiebroadband.com.au
Outgoing Mail Server:
mail.aussiebroadband.com.au
User Name: (your full email address, such as example@aussiebb.com.au)
Password: (the password for this email address)
Leave the box for Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) un-ticked. Once you have filled out all of these fields, click Next. You may click Test Account Settings to verify you've entered everything correctly.
Click Finish to close the setup window.
Once all these steps have been completed, the pop-up window should disappear, and Outlook will try to synchronise your emails from the server. If a lot of emails are stored in your account, it may a while to load them all.
And that’s how you log in to your Aussie Broadband email address using Microsoft Outlook (2007)!
