What does an upgraded nbn® Fixed Wireless network mean for you?
Connecting our regional neighbours to high-speed internet
Fixed Wireless has often been seen as the little sibling of other nbn® connection types—offering essential access to the nbn® for people in regional and remote areas, but with some speed limitations. That's now changing. Thanks to the nbn® Fixed Wireless upgrade project, the network is getting a major boost. With dedicated hybrid 4G and 5G technology, Fixed Wireless is evolving into a fast, reliable connection type that can rival many cabled connections.
Here's how it works: data travels over radio signals from a nearby transmission tower to an nbn® outdoor antenna installed at your home. From there, it connects to an nbn® connection box inside, delivering high-speed internet straight to your devices.
